| This is very much a Victorian purpose built pub, but its roots are somewhat older. The original Teddington King’s Head dates back to 1689. At least this solves the riddle of which King; it’s William III. Sadly we found little remaining of the original interior but we think we have recaptured the feel of a real pub; snugs, three separate rooms, open fireplaces, a real pewter bar, a drinking area at the front and a wonderful walled patio at the back (with a fruiting grape vine we protected with gusto from the builders) Though unseen the cellar has also been completed renovated, out of sight but the ale will show the difference. We admit one serious break with tradition, an open kitchen where you can just observe our chefs preparing your steamed pudding or steak on the charcoal grill. |
